5th Grade Social Studies Teacher Email Phone: (920)648-2338 ext 250 I am so honored to be a member of the Lake Mills Middle School team of teachers.
I grew up in Pardeeville, WI. My dad was a farmer, raising pigs and growing acres upon acres of cucumbers. My earliest summer job and many memories are from my time spent working on the farm. To this day, I do not eat any type of cucumber or pickle. I attended Pardeeville area schools K-8 and then attended Northwestern Prep School (now Luther Prep) in Watertown for high school. My college years were spent in New Ulm, MN at Dr. Martin Luther College. During those years, I spent time working as a lifeguard and as an in-home therapist for special needs children.
My first teaching job was teaching grades 5-8 in a two room school in Stanton, NE. My organizational skills really went in to overload that school year. I then moved to Lake Mills in 1995. I taught 5th grade at St. Paul's Lutheran School until September 2014. It was at this time that I stepped back to focus on my children as we worked through the grief of losing my husband to cancer.
In the fall of 2015, I returned to the classroom as a substitute teacher for the district. I had the privilege of subbing in all three district buildings. I joined the Middle School staff full time in January 2016 as a Language Arts teacher.
In September 2016, I made the move to the age group and level that I know and love to work with. Social Studies is also my favorite area of curriculum.
I am honored and excited to work with parents as their children continue on their educational journey!
