Link Crew is a leadership program in the United States and Canada. This program trains teacher nominated Juniors and Seniors to be "linked" with a small group of Freshmen throughout the year. Link Leaders help the freshman get involved in the school by informing them about activities our school provides, inviting and joining them to school sponsored events and being that "safe" person they can come to for help with school, teachers, friends, parents, and life. Link Leaders are a positive role model for not only the freshman students during the important transition from middle school to high school, but for the entire school community as well.
Link Leaders begin before the school year with two days of extensive training. Each freshman student is assigned to a group of 8-10 other freshmen and two Link Leaders. Link Leaders participate in activities with their Freshman during the Freshman Orientation program on the first day of school. This half day program is designed to make the freshmen feel more comfortable about their new school, new teachers, and the upperclassmen.
Link Leaders continue to support their Crew throughout the year by meeting with them for monthly lunches, advisory activities and multiple social events provided to get Freshmen involved in many activities LMHS has to offer. LMHS Link Crew also provides fun study sessions prior to semester exams.
